Un-following people here in Tumblr is a form of rejection. Personally, I have clicked the Unfollow button so many times. Therefore, I’ve rejected so many people here in Tumblr. On the other hand, un-following people does not denote end of friendship and the like.

Rejection, based on Encarta Dictionaries, denotes not accepting/keeping something. By un-following certain people, you are literally removing them from your Dashboard. You take away the chance of connecting with them. You withdraw the opportunity to see their thoughts and ideas. Categorically, un-following is simply un-following. There’s nothing personal about it, I guess. You just want to keep your Dashboard the way you want it to be. Hence, according to your own standards. I un-follow people because I have reasons which not everyone can understand. We have our own bases on why we un-follow people and it must be respected.

Yes, being un-followed by your treasured followers may really hurt you because rejection itself is quite spiteful. No one exclaimed that you are prohibited to feel upset when someone un-follows you. Personally, it is an initial reaction. Getting a bit hurt once you see that the number of followers has changed is normal. Just like in other forms of rejection, being hurt is normal. More so, I believe that everybody has experienced rejection; both being rejected and rejecting someone.

Rejection in actuality or real life is another question. Certainly, not everything that you post defines who you are. It is not enough that you label a person based on what you see in your monitor. Before you conclude what kind of person a blogger is, a lot of things should be taken into consideration. Oftentimes, you only see words and sentences which are facade of what a person really is.

Rejection is common in Tumblr. It is common everyday. Being hurt is common. You can never change the fact that hurting is part of life. It may sound pessimistic or cynical, but it is what reality articulates.

This is my opinion and I am wholeheartedly open for any kind of rejection. Thank you very much.
